Southern Highlands artist, Dr. Mark Toner has pursued a passion for art since the 1980s alongside his career as a school counsellor and throughout this time has held several solo exhibitions and contributed to group shows in the Southern Highlands.
Mark’s distinctive and dramatic painting style often employ unique perspectives and three-dimensional effects, expresing his deep appreciation for the natural world and the Australian landscape.
His extensive psychological studies and experience as a psychologist have also infused his work with psychological and existential themes. Surrealist influences are never far away in his work.
More recently, his extensive travels around the world have inspired a growing array of paintings capturing these diverse landscapes and landmarks.
He recently staged a successful 40 Respective Exhibition at Bowral Art Gallery covering his work in painting and sculpture over the last four decades.
